Obituary

Waterloo- Christopher John DeRosia, 34, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Friends may call Saturday (Oct. 14th) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday (Oct. 15th) at 2 p.m. at the Gorham United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chris’ wife, Jamie DeRosia, c/o Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 201, Gorham, NY 14461.

Chris was born in Sodus, NY, the son of Leo DeRosia and Shirley Doucet. He was the step-son of John and Martha Shields, Sr.
Chris attended North Rose-Wolcott Central Schools. He was a foundry worker at Gould’s Pumps in Seneca Falls. Chris also worked at F-n-A Rhythm and Booze in Waterloo.

Chris loved motorcycles, fishing, video games and the Buffalo Bills. He was proud of owning his own house. Most of all Chris loved his three daughters and his wife.

Chris is survived his wife, Jamie; three daughters, Kailyn, Cirstyn and Kendra DeRosia; his father, Leo DeRosia; his step-parents, John and Martha Shields, Jr., and his grandmother, Shirley Doucet. He is also survived by 12 brothers and sisters, Cassandra (Jeff) Shallington, Gavin Shields, Nathan (Leah) Shields, Russell (Elizabeth) Noftell, Nicole (Derek) Corbin, John (Kaitlin) Shields, Jr., Mylinda (Patrick) DeRosia, Tony (Becky) DeRosia, Leela (Gerald) Valdez, Nina (Harold) St. John, Rachel (David) Smith, and Alicia Rumsey; and his best friends, Nate Scott and Steve Pollock; and many other loving friends.

Chris’s in-laws include his mother-in-law, Karen Leach; two sisters-in-law, Stefanie (Randy) Angelo and Viktoria (Jose Alicea) Leach; his uncle Phillip (Catherine) Hackett; a very special “Squishy”; and his wife’s grandmother, Kay Hackett. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chris was predeceased by his mother, Shirley Doucet; and his father-in-law, Emory J. Leach.
