Obituary
Waterloo – Christine L. (Almekinder) Warner, age 56, passed away at her home on Friday, January 21, 2022.
Friends may call Friday (Feb. 4th) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (Feb. 5th) at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church in Gorham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation of Upstate NY, 1344 University Ave., Rochester, NY 14607.
Christine was born Dec. 18, 1965 in Newark, NY. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1984. Christine served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. She graduated from FLCC with an Associates Degree in Human Services. Christine worked for 17 years as a Direct Care Aide for Finger Lakes DDSO. She had also been a Manager at Geneva Walmart for several years.
Christine enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking and cooking for her family. She also loved playing cards, dancing, camping, watching Hallmark and the cooking channel. She was always up for an adventure.
Christine was a devoted member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She devoted herself to caring for her family.
Christine was a true example of an extraordinarily strong woman, who fought life’s battles with her head held high.
Christine is survived by her mother, Sharyn (Alan) McGregor; father, James Almekinder; four children, Amanda Warner, Justin (Destiny Haust) Warner, Cierra (Vladimir Markizov) Durso and Emma June Fulkrod; grandchildren, Makenzy, David, Dylan, Dustin, Dominick and Demi; two sisters, Melissa (Rick) Downey-Bigler and Denise (Jay) Smith; one brother, Andrew Wheeler; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Christine was predeceased by her step-father, Ronald Wheeler.
