Obituary
Canandaigua – Beverly Grace Kimmerly Wickham, 85, beloved wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 30, 2018.
Born September 1, 1933 in Clayton, NY, Beverly graduated from Clayton Central School in 1951 and married the late Donald I. Wickham in 1955. She enjoyed an incredibly full and happy life along side Don for more than 60 years. The family they raised together was their greatest accomplishment and triumph.
Bev, Gramma Bev or GiGi, as her grandchildren and great- grandchildren called her, also cherished the love and affection of many dear friends. Bev’s greatest joys and achievements were her family – she was immensely proud of the three generations of the Wickham Dynasty. She leaves behind a cache of memories and stories that exemplify a life full of love and service to her family and friends. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed hosting family and friends in their home. Whether making her delicious chocolate cake with coffee frosting, her forever-famous strawberry jam or countless heartfelt meals she shared with her family and friends through the years, she was passionate in her desire to give to others.
Bev was an integral part of Tri-Way Farms and the retail vegetable operation her family ran. She was the master-mind behind the concept of selling cabbage, corn and pumpkins on a road-side stand that, 50-years later,
is still being carried on by three of her children. Her contributions were enormous, and her patience and support of their farm, Don and their 5 children were a major part of its success.
Later in life, she spent many years working alongside Don and Bill at Globe Travel, always being the pillar of support in that operation and always leading by example. She was a treasured soul that will be missed by many.
She cherished her time spent with family and friends and packed her 85 years full of laughter, happiness, joy, and proud moments. She was strong and mighty, yet caring and gracious. Above all, the 60 years she spent on
her life journey with Don were her most treasured times, and all who had the good fortune to be a part of those years with them will forever have a mark in their lives left by their great example of love and respect.
She is survived by her loving family; Son, Gregory (Lisa), grandchildren, Lindsay, Scott (Christine) and Steven; Son, Andrew (Melanie), grandchildren, Samantha (Mark) Schreck, Timothy (Shannon), Benjamin and Daniel (Cortni); Son, Brian (Kim), grandchildren, Stephanie (Brennan) Marks, Christopher (Jacqueline), Nicholas (Kayla), Lisa and
Keith Burley; Son, William (Debbie), grandchildren Kevin (Carolyn), Paige and Dale; and daughter Karen (Corey) Cartier, grandchildren, Sara and CJ; great-grandchildren, Andy, Finley, Gabe, Henry, Ethan, Nora, Reagan and
Sawyer; Brother, Robert Kimmerly; Nieces, Lee (Doug) Boyd, Dr. Joanne Hessney and Susan (Larry) Schwartz; Nephews, Jeffery (Monica) Hessney and Rob (Renata) Kimmerly.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60-years, Donald I. Wickham; parents, Willis and Mary Kimmerly; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and John Hessney; and nephew, Steven Hessney.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., Oct. 10th at the First United Methodist Church of Canandaigua, 110 N. Main Street, Canandaigua. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the service.
