Obituary

Canandaigua- Barbara “Jane” Pulsipher, age 100, passed away at M.M. Ewing CCC, on March 28, 2023, after a brief illness.

There will be a private graveside service for family.

Jane was born on October 21, 1922, to Albert and Mabel Watkins Brahm. She graduated from Canandaigua Academy. Jane and her husband owned Vance’s Halfway House in Chapin, NY. After his death, she eventually went to work at Finger Lakes Race Track as a Pari-Mutuel Clerk and retired from there. After moving to Georgia for several years, she returned to Canandaigua to be nearer to her family.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Barbara A. Holtz and Julie A. Harris; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nephews and great-niece. She is also survived by her roommate and good friend at the CCC, June Ellis.

Jane was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Vance E. Pulsipher, Jr.; her sons-in-law, Norman C. Holtz and Bruce J. Harris; her brother, Earl T. Brahm and sister-in-law, Mary P. Brahm.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of M.M. Ewing CCC for their care and kindness to Jane, Especially during the last few days.

Hi Julie, I hadn't talked to your Mom in a while. We go way back knowing each other. We worked together at Finger Lakes and Oaklawn Park in Ark. I'm sorry that I didn't know she was at Ewing or would have visited her. She was such a lovely person and I'm happy to have known her. I'm sorry for your loss.
