Obituary
Gorham/Penfield- Allan J. “Al” Poppoon, Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
The family will observe a Private Graveside Service in Gorham Cemetery. A public Memorial Service will be held this summer, at a date to be announced.

Al was born March 4, 1943 to the late John J. and Helen M. Liese Poppoon. He was a graduate of Penfield High School, Class of 1961. Al retired from Tel-Tru Corp. in Rochester in 2006.
In his younger years Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being in the out of doors. He was Band Booster President at Marcus Whitman, and was involved in the Gorham Pageant of Bands. Al was very involved with his children, and was always at all of their events. He put family first, above all.
Al is survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Daughton; one son, Allan J. (Josephine) Poppoon, Jr.; one grandson, Adam Daughton; one brother, John (Jean) Poppoon; nieces, nephews and cousins; and his loving partner, Sheryl “Sherry” (Smith) Weissert.
Al was predeceased by his wife, Jean, on Dec. 7, 2003; and his daughter, Kelly, on Nov. 13, 1987.
