The Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home, Inc., has been owned and operated by Funeral Director, Ken Perkins for 40 years.
Ken purchased the funeral home in 1974 from Funeral Director, Edmund Crisfield, who had operated it from 1947 to 1974. The original Gorham funeral home was owned and operated by Funeral Director John Clelland from 1917 to 1947, at a different location.
The 3-story brick Victorian building was built in 1883 by local farmer and businessman, Joseph Hershey. Ken added a 1-story Chapel to the original building in 1995. He has completely redecorated the funeral home twice since 1974, always keeping the Victorian character in the original building.
In 1984 Ken purchased the Willis C. Moore Funeral Home in Rushville. He consolidated the two businesses in the Gorham funeral home in 1989.
The funeral home is handicapped accessible, with a ramp and accessible bathroom. It has central air conditioning for your comfort on warm days.
